Notes:
This Ancient Ale is a modern take on a 9th-century Finnish beer.

The wort for Sah'tea is caramelized over white-hot river rocks, and the beer is fermented with a German weizen yeast. In addition to juniper berries foraged from the Finnish countryside, Sah'tea is flavored with black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and black pepper.

The spicing is subtle and balanced, and Sah'tea is a highly-quaffable, truly unique brew with a full mouthfeel.

A: Pours a cloudy golden orange in color with some bright orange and just a touch of ruby red highlights, some moderate amounts of visible carbonation, and a fair amount of visible sediment in the bottom of the glass. The beer has a finger tall dark beige head that quickly reduces to a thin film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Strong aromas of tea, juniper berries, and chai spices. Underneath there is a lighter aroma of fruity sweetness.

T: Moderate to strong flavors of chai tea spices, tea, and juniper berries. Underneath there is a light amount of pale malts along with some fruity sweetness and honey. There is a nice complexity to the flavor.

M: Medium bodied with light to moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: This is a very enjoyable beer and probably the most drinkable representative of the style - I like the chai tea spice flavors and aromas with the more traditional juniper berries. The alcohol is well hidden and it is pretty easy to drink. Definitely not my first time having it and kind of wondering why it took me so long to do a proper review... Definitely one I will have again.
