Notes:
This Ancient Ale is a modern take on a 9th-century Finnish beer.
The wort for Sah'tea is caramelized over white-hot river rocks, and the beer is fermented with a German weizen yeast. In addition to juniper berries foraged from the Finnish countryside, Sah'tea is flavored with black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and black pepper.
The spicing is subtle and balanced, and Sah'tea is a highly-quaffable, truly unique brew with a full mouthfeel.

Enjoyed in a pint glass
A: pours a nicely hazed straw yellow color with an ample amount of sediment in suspension which is white in color and i would assume to be yeast, pours with a finger of very fine bubbled pure white head which lingers for a short time as it is aided by the carbonation bubbles rising to the surface, leaves
S: so i definitely get a berry note but its more of a spicy or even piney berry note and it brings to mind Christmas time and wreaths, im assuming this is the juniper notes coming through
T: interesting complexity in this brew, begins first with a bit of a sharp spice note from the junipers then moves into more of just a pure berry note, the early finish actually has a slight lemony note to it and it leaves a lingering taste of juniper, im reminded quite fondly of anchors Christmas beer
M: medium carbonation tingle up front, becomes quite light and foamy across the palate mid sip, leaves the mouth rather cleanly but does leaves the lips feeling sticky
O: as my first experience with the style, i would say this a pretty well crafted brew and hits on the intentions of the style, juniper is present throughout although i did not find much of the black chai tea taste that is mentioned on the label

P: A vivacious apricot body housing a multitude of floaters. A nice off white bubbly thin head that has decent retention. Wet bubbly lacing that sloshes the sides but doesn't stick.
S: Cinnamon, chai, vanilla, toasted rye bread, spicy booze and juniper berries. Aroma is a cross between pumpkin pie and a chai latte.
T/M: Cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, clove, juniper berries and rye bread create a cornucopia of lavish flavors. Toasted grains, chai, musty wood, dank yeast and boozy fruit follow. The aggressive effervesce leaves a tingly peppered palate. Saison like.
O: This reminds me of gulab jamun but with more natural earthy essence and a dialed down syrupy sweetness. Super complex brew that has layers upon layers building an ever evolving flavor profile.
