Poured from 12oz bottle into snifter. Bottled on date:12/02/09

Pourse a briant amber color, with lighter hints of orange. Creamy off-white colored head, with some stickyness to it. Head fades to leave a nice lace wrapping around the glass.

Aroma is obviously hoppy, and leaning towards the more citrusy hops, but really not as much as others in the style. With the bottle being 4 months old, its hard to tell if maybe the hop notes were stronger when it was fresh, or if there is enough backbone from the malt that the hops are somewhat disguised. That being said, there is some sweetness in the aroma from the malt.

Taste is quite wonderful IMO. Hoppy, but not a palate buster, with a good citrusy flavor and rather enjoyable bitterness. At 4 months of age, the hop flavors seem like they may have toned down a bit, but not so much as if it had been cellared. Really, it just makes the malt backbone a bit more noticeable, with hints of dark fruit seeming to provide the sweetness.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with the alcohol cleverly hidden until the finish.

Overall, like many fine D.I.P.A.'s this one goes down quite well and it is easy to drink a few of these before one notices the alcohol.
