Notes:
This oak-aged gentle giant has been gaining popularity over the past few years and is now available year-round.

For Burton Baton, we brew two "threads," or batches, of beer: an English-style old ale and an imperial IPA.

After fementating the beers separately in our stainless tanks, they're transferred and blended together in one of our large oak tanks. Burton Baton sits on the wood for about a month.

When enjoying the Burton Baton, you'll find an awesome blend of the citrus notes from Northwestern hops melding with woody, vanilla notes from the oak. The wood also tends to mellow the 10% ABV of Burton, so tread cautiously!

A: Beautiful looking beer. Rocky off-white head atop an orange to amber body. I did a pretty aggressive pour into my DFH signature glass and got about three fingers' worth of head. It has a bit of chill haze at the moment but I imagine it might turn clear as it warms. It's left some nice hazing as the head has gone down.

S: Malts and citrus up front. I always get mango with really good IPAs. This is no exception. Some apple juice. I get a wet straw smell also. Some vanilla and oak.

T: Really good. Oak and vanilla up front. White grapes, citrus, bitter hops through the middle, nice malty finish. No lingering bitterness. I'm very impressed.

M: What a smooth beer! Full bodied. Excellent. I also don't get a lot of booziness in the mouth for a 10% beer.
