Poured from a 22oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a clear, dark golden color with streams of carbonation bubbles rapidly rising to the top. A massive, two finger, pearl white head sits on top with lots of retention. Rings of lacing are left behind.

S: A mild citrus fruit aroma comes through initially, followed by a subtle sweetness, most likely due to the maple syrup added. Well balanced overall between the sweet malts and maple syrup and the hop profile.

T: There is a blast of bitter hops that blends well with the same sweet characteristics that were found in the aroma. There is an odd metallic-like aspect that I noticed in towards the finish, but as the beer warms this unappealing taste seems to die down.

M: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. A resiny feel that coats the palate with flavor. There is a cleansing, mildly bitter finish.

O: A pretty solid IPA all around. The addition of maple syrup was a nice twist to this style that has been beaten into the ground. I enjoyed this quite a bit and will have to revisit it again when I can get my hands on it.

Really was looking forward to this brew. Poured a nice head, good aroma but the taste lacked character to me. Overall this beer was good but the maple was weak and I feel the brew just missed the mark. Overall I would purchase this beer again as it is enjoyable but it's sub-par in the World of outstanding beers.

Bottom Line: Worth drinking.

Appearance:

Cloudy amber with 2 inch head and lots of lacing. It looks as sticky as the hops taste.

Aroma:

Piney and Hoppy. Mildly citrusy. Nothing outstanding and mildly sweeter than your typical IPA. As someone who wants a good aroma from their beer it is a little underwhelming.

Palate:

Very creamy and smooth almost milk like. Sticky hops.

Taste:

A pretty well balanced but not exceptional tasting IPA. You have your typical citrus fruits, pine, florals, etc. Following their naming system, it is hoppyer and much fuller beer than Dogfish Head's 60 minute but does not deliver the full force flavor of the 90 and certainly is not even in the same universe as the 120. The maple gives a nice mellow sweetness that is not overbearing. It all comes together with an acceptable alcohol flavor for a well rounded IPA.

Overall:

I have been waiting to get to taste this for a while as these have been scarce for some reason where I live. As a big fan of DFH's 90 minute and a not as big fan of their 60, I really didn't know what to expect here. But as stated above, it follows the naming convention well, and finds a happy medium between DFH's two flagship IPAs. A well rounded brew, the 75 minute will not dissapoint in any category, but it will not blow your mind either. While it is a nice crossover from light and heavy IPA, I think it is rare that that is what people will be desiring, and I doubt they will want to pay the considerable price tag when 90 minutes are far cheaper. If you like DFH, try it once, but don't be expecting a new favorite.

The difference between tasting this beer poured from the cask and drinking it from a bottle is akin to the difference between the minor and the major leagues.

From the cask this beer has the perfect aroma of citrus and hops.

The greatest thing is how it feels. It is dangerous drink since it feels creamy and pleasurable, like a tall glass of chocolate milk.

A: Dark amber or light brown in color. Forms a smallish off-white head that reduces to a thick ring around the edge. Copious amounts of lacing.

S: Aroma is fairly earthy, with a notes of caramel malts and green, herbaceous hops and a bit of citrus rind.

T: Taste is sort of similar to the aroma, starting off with a good amount of caramel malts. There is a slight woodsy quality, some grapefruit pith, and a little pine. Then comes a mild maple sweetness and some herbal hops. Finishes with a light sweetness.

M: Medium bodied, medium carbonation, moderate bitterness. Smoothes out as it warms up.

O: This beer is a bit of a dichotomy. In one sense, it tastes just like an IPA should, but then there is the maple sweetness that is entirely out of place in an IPA. I'll admit, I prefer West Coast style IPAs, but I can appreciate a mildly sweet IPA when it's made well, but the maple in this beer just doesn't blend well and does absolutely nothing to improve it.

This was our first time ever laying eyes on Dogfish Head's 75 Minute IPA, and we were excited to give it a taste! The beer pours a hazy orange and is capped by a bubbly inch of white head. Caramel and bready malt aromas are just the beginning as the hints of citrus, tropical fruit, grass, and a touch of maple syrup are also detected. A touch of citrus hop flavor pokes out from behind a large amount of floral and grassy hop tones that are well met with a caramel dominated malt backbone. Medium in body, this "blend" of 60 minute and 90 minute features tongue prickling carbonation. Boom!

Cheers!

750ml bottle poured into a snifter. Enjoyed thanks to SanFranJake!!

A: Pours a hazy orange color with a huge head and very nice lacing.

S: Citrus hops along with some sweet malts. Not as strong as I expected.

T: Citrus and pine hops with a pretty large malt backbone. Sweet maple syrup is there as well. The alcohol is well hidden. Pretty damn enjoyable.

M: Medium bodied with good carbonation. Very smooth.

O: I'm very glad I got to try this one. It's not a hop bomb, which I prefer, but it's very drinkable.

Poured into a snifter. Orange yellow body, seems a bit lighter than I recall 90 being. A good 2-3 finger head with a good bit of lacing forming.

A strong citrus note opens up the beer. Followed by caramel and chocolate malts. I believe the sweetness coming through has some maple syrup enhancements to it off. There isn't nearly the sugary sweet notes that a bigger IPA could give off nor the wonderful floral citrus notes that make a great double IPA.

Strong citrus notes, grape fruit is showing off with a bit of pine perhaps in the finish. Maple is dominating the malt bill. The malt while not overly thick is a bit over powering on the hops, giving this a slight malt dominance. Non hop heads will of course beg to differ.

A very drinkable body! I could honestly say this one has better mouth feel than even the 60. Sadly the flavors are strong and powerful enough to make this one linger a touch too much.

Dogfish seems to be getting the IPA right here. 75 minute has a great body and at 7.5% it hits a nice place in the IPA world. The citrus notes are wonderful. The only problem is the malt is a bit too sweet and seems to take over when sipped.

Fresh pine and citrus envelopes your nostrils on first whiff. The body is pure, crystal clear gold with a frothy white head; lots of sticky rings and lacing on the glass. Further sniffing of the glass reveals hints of caramel and crystal malt character beneath the heady hop scents. Gentle, medium-bodied feel to the beer; soft and smooth on the tongue; creamy texture. Soothing malt sweetness backed with a very forward hop bitterness presents the overall flavoring.

Oh, yeah! A truly excellent AIPA. Although my primitive tasting skills didn't pickup anything specifically related to the maple syrup used in this beer's creation, it doesn't really matter since, no matter how this was crafted, this is one tasty, easy drinking hop bomb ale. Mellow in feel, powerful in taste and complexity.

M-medium bodied, good amount of carbonation

Appearance: Clear golden with visible effervescence slowly floating up towards a two finger soapy off-white head. Later pours were cloudy do to the sediment in the bottle. Decent lacing.

Aroma: Pine and citrus hops. Caramel malts in there but can't detect the maple syrup.

Taste: Lighter than I was expecting. I thought it would be maltier but there is a good caramel background that is balanced by the type of piney/citrusy hops that DFH usually implements. The maple syrup element peeks through just a bit on the finish and aftertaste which is probably the best outcome for this one. Decently bitter at 75 IBUs but not overwhelming dry. Seems lighter than 7.5% ABV in my opinion.

Mouthfeel: Above average carbonation (due to the sometimes inexact science of bottle carbonating I think). Between thin and medium in body, never sticky or syrupy as the ingredient list might imply. Easy drinkability.

Final Thoughts: I liked it, but I wasn't 'in like' with it. I was lucky enough to share this bottle with someone but I don't think it's worth the $25 they payed for the bomber. Just feels like it's missing something that could bring it to that next level. Would I drink it again? Probably not unless I was at the brewery having it on-tap.

Well it's been a long time since I've had something from dogfish that was really quite nice. This is a very nice beer. Very smooth flavor profile. Touches of sweetness that don't get out of control. I like it. Nice firm bitterness that doesn't go over the top. It's good.

Been wanting to try this for a quite a while being a DFH fan and enjoying the 60 and 90 minute offerings so much.

A - Not that this classifies as appearance too much, but im a big fan of the bottle and label. Poured into a pint glass. Dark golden color, almost clear with little cloudiness at all. Giant bright white head on it that hangs around for the duration of drinking it.

S - Nice Hoppy smell to it as expected with the 90 minute IPA mixed in, small notes of the maple syrup that was added to make it something unique to its own.

T - Solid IPA. really would categorize this closer to the 90 minute than the 60 minute. Some sweet notes and some fruit in there. Very DFH like in tastes with generous hops. Some alcohol warmth to it, but very drinkable and good.

M - well balanced. Just enough carbonation, but very smooth. Typical DFH brew.

O - Definitely would try again. I am rarely if ever let down by DFH and their IPA offerings. I would put this closer to the 90 min but with that small twist of maple added to it. Good Stuff.

I poured this from a 22oz bottle into a pint glass. It has a nice copper color body with a large white creamy head that hangs around for a while.
The smell has a light citrus crispness to it .
The taste has a grapefruit, citrus flavor to it from the hops. it also has slight sweetness to it.
The mouth feel is really nice and smooth, very little after taste. Overall a great beer.
Imo, it is better than the 60 minute, but isn't better than the 90 min. but i would defently get it again and i would recomend it.

A – A beautiful polished brass body; copious amounts of very light off-white head that leaves streaks of lacing down the glass as it subsides with amazing retention as well. A gorgeous beer.

S – It really does smell a lot like the 60 and the 90 combined with a toasted bready/biscuit aroma, a goodly amount of citrus and pineapple hops, a caramel and spiciness to it as well. Smells very good.

T – Sweet citrus hops is in the forefront contributing wonderful and varying tastes of grapefruit and pineapple, much like in the nose, but this flavor intermingles in a much more complex manner in the taste than in the smell. There is a grand interplay of caramel maltiness, caramel and really an almost woody oaky element which could potentially be described as toast and biscuits as well but it is just a most pleasant melody of flavors in any case. Still not as good as the 90 minutes, IMO, but very good nonetheless. Different in it’s own special way.

M – The mouthfeel, like a lot of things done by DFH is just perfect. Carbonation is spot on and lasts throughout, smooth and silky, wonderfully crafted.

O – Overall this is near where I hold the 90 minute, which is in a very high tier, but falls just slightly short. Very well done and an awesome beer though, and one I shall certainly enjoy again. Definitely worth picking this up and I highly recommend it.

Grab one, it's great. I prefer it to the sixty & the ninety, though I do greatly respect the 60 minute in particular. Less maple then I expected, particularly considering the brewer. Evidence of bottle fermentation is also minimal. Smell & flavor were damn, damn good. Appearance less than stellar, and mouthfeel provides a squeeze I don't need. Indeed, had I drank this blind, I mighttt have mentioned maple in the scent, but probably wouldn't have pinned it in the flavor. In sum, it seems the maple ends up mellowing an impressively blended IPA into a beguiling and deliciously mellow brew.

Drank last night at a beer share - reviewing from notes.

A - Pours with a subtle beauty, light orange but as pure a color as can be

S - smells like a traditional ale, but with a hint of sweetness

T - so subtle. Delicious, hides the 7.5% very well, but maple aftertaste is the kicker here. Smooth, really well rounded, really well done. Tastes like desert.

M - Tons of head, really good lacing, high carbonation. Bubbles dance for an extended period of time.

O - Share a bomber, quickly.

Excited to have this available in California - been wanting to try it for a while. Poured from a 750mL bottle into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Even with a careful pour, more than half the glass is filled with an ever-rising white layer of foam. Thick heavy merengue-like lacing adorns the sides once the turbulence dies down sufficiently to reveal the bright glowing amber of the supporting liquid. Perpetual retention.

Potent aromatics cut through the last vestiges of my post-cold congestion to deliver a huge punch of hops. Fresh cut pine trees (one imagines an entire old growth forest sacrificed for this nose), tangerine, and passion fruit come through with a touch of caramel as well. Sweet and gently herbaceous.

Floral palate entry with a wave of maple candy and grapefruit pith taking hold quickly. Slightly earthy finish with hints of roses, white pepper, and french toast. The lasting, unapologetic citrus-kissed bitterness is an odd match for the sweetness of maple syrup, but the balance somehow works.

Creamy, soft, medium-bodied mouth-feel - well carbonated yet drying.

Quite unique with the maple syrup being so forward - like Sunday brunch in a bottle.

Reviewing 60, 75, and 90 minute side-by-side.

Aggressive pour yields a brilliant golden body, a touch darker than the 60 minute, slightly more bronze, with a dense one and a half inch pillowy cream head that lingers, and will eventually leave sheets of lacing that are more sticky than the 60 minute.

Hops are a bit more dank in the aroma, and the malt character seems a tad sweeter. Grapefruit and a variety of tropical fruits, like mango and pineapple, are present. There's a fresh-cut grass character, and a touch of pine and resin. Floral hops emerge as it warms.

Flavor is significantly more bitter than the 60 minute. There's also a bigger, sweeter, toasted bready, caramel malt character. Dank hops are more dominant, muddling the citrus profile. Earthy hops are also present, lending a bit of mineral quality at the finish. Citrus character and floral hops are more dominant than the 60.

Body is moderate, somewhat creamy, and the carbonation is almost spritzy. Alcohol warmth is a bit more pronounced.

Overall, more traditional of what I would consider to be an IPA than the 60 minute. Good hop flavor character, nice, strong malt body, slightly sweet, and a good, bitter finish. Wouldn't have known maple syrup was added, by flavor or aroma profiles.

Into a pint glass:

A: light golden orange colored body leaving a two finger white foamy head that is probably one of the most beautiful looking heads of any beer I've ever seen in my entire life. Beautiful foamy lacing clings yet gently slides down the glass

S: maple syrup up front, but not overbearing, because I can still smell the hops, some light grapefruit and some light malts

T: spectacular as the maple syrup, hops, grapefruit and malts combine in a wonderful combination

M: awesomely smooth and sticky, but a nice stickiness. It is medium bodied. The drinkability is moderate, I'll have no problem finishing off the bomber, but that'll probably be it for the night

O: so glad I finally found this as I've been searching for this for an exceptionally long time. Well worth the wait and I may have to go pick up some more bombers of this. If this doesn't make one a fan of American IPA's, nothing will. As of today, this is my all time favorite Dogfish Head beer.

750mL bottle from Northbridge Piggly Wiggly. Poured into a DFH snifter...

A: golden orange; one-finger, wispy, white head; nice sheet of lace and excellent retention fed by a steady bubble stream; even with bottle conditioning, no cloudiness; a superb looking IPA.

S: hoppy nectar; tropical fruit with some dry grapefruit pith and light, resinous hop aroma; sweet malt.

T: resin/pine - but not too heavy... leads to the sweeter, brighter citrus/mango/peach hop bitterness; nice malt sweetness on the end - maybe the maple syrup helps here.

M: medium-full body; high carbonation, yet creamy; delightful; perfect.

O: As I cycle through all the DFH beers I've had, this one may be my favorite; nice hoppiness and satisfying; malt and sweetness is there, too; great mouthfeel; maybe I'll pick up another!

Meadhall in Cambridge for 12 Brewers of Christmas.

A: Super hazy, thick, golden orange yellow. Looks like fresh pressed apple cider. Big frothy white head that fades into huge lace and good retention.

"Holy shit!" This applies to both smell and taste.

S: Incredible bouquet of honey, fresh fruit, wildflowers, fresh mountain air, earth, more fruit, something more I can't describe. Unbelievable nose. Better than a 5.

T: now this is what an IPA on cask should taste like! Huge onslaught of bright american hops followed by honey, fresh cut grass, earth, some wood, ripe fruit, yeast, and a touch of malt. The sweet sugary malt shows up as does the maple syrup, albeit very faint. It does contribute to the balance, though, because the hops can be powerful at times.

M: Massive, complex flavors, crazy balanced, and superbly crafted. Can be a tad cloying and almost too thick of a body for the style after a few successive sips. But the flavors erase those deficiencies.

O: This is the real deal. Beers like this are why I will never hate on Dogfish nor Sam for his ambition. Some beers are hit or miss but overall the love is there and beers like this are there. This is a phenomenal beer.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from bomber into a CCB pint glass.

A: Clear, gold in color, with a great amount of visible carbonation. Huge white frothy head.

S: Big citrus, grapefruit hops profile with a sweet, biscuit malt backbone.

T: Hops up front - citrus, some pine & tropical fruit - then the light malts and an underlying sweetness (I'm left to assume this is the maple syrup influence?). Really a remarkably balanced beer.

M: Slightly thick body for style, good carbonation sensation, minimal alcohol presence especially given the ABV.

O: Good, very tasty beer. It was not a hop bomb at all, and the balance of the beer was very well done, though perhaps not my personal preference for an American IPA. Not quite what I was hoping for, but I'll gladly drink another.
