A- golden, bronze color, a bit cloudy

S - mellow citrusy hop aroma

T - bittersweet, not overly hoppy, the maple seems to cut the bitternesss some

M - effervescent pour, but buttery when drinking.

O - a solid IPA, very drinkable. not obnoxiously hoppy yet definitely makes its presence known

Bottled 2012M, which I believe is December.

Beer is golden orange in colour with a large white head. Good retention, decent lacing.

The maple syrup is noticeable in the nose, and is paired with pine and orange. Caramel malt and a bit of a woody scent.

Flavour is a bit spicy, with pine hitting me first. The maple syrup is also right there, adding a sweetness. Some citrus flavours, orange mainly, but as far as the hops go the pine is far and away the dominant flavour for me. The maple syrup has a noticeable impact but doesn't take over- quite well integrated.

Medium bodied, moderate to strong carbonation level. Spicy.

Overall, pretty good, but not what I hoped for. Granted I am not the biggest maple fan, and I do think they mixed it quite well into this beer, but the result is not that remarkable. Perhaps it is a bit faded.

Pours out with more than average head, which stays for quite a while. Clings to sides of glass. Very hazy caramel color throughout. Reminds me of autumn.

Smell is very malty. Not a lot of hop being detected. Sweet, thick malt is the overpowering sensation.

Taste is sweet and syrupy (as expected, with maple syrup being an ingredient). Lots of malt and a very subdued taste overall.

Mouthfeel is very thick and syrupy. Not a very clean finish overall. Lingers in the mouth long after sip is finished.

A: A slightly hazy amber in color. A wonderful three fingers of barely off white fluffy head. Great retention and lacing.

S: Smell is a little bit on the mild side. Pine, grapefruit, and tropical fruit.

T: Very similar to the smell and the sweet maple syrup comes into play here.

M: Medium body that is super smooth and creamy. Carbonation is on the lighter side and it fits in well with the body

O: Interesting story about how this is made, similar to their Burton Baton. This beer is quite the gem, it is just so smooth. Very rare for an IPA. No harshness at all. It is perfectly malty and hoppy. Plus, the dude on the label looks like a younger version of Eugene Levy and it made me laugh.

Any beer without a head is a sorry sight and, trust you me, Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA is no sad sap. Its big bubbly white head deserves an Oscar for best costume design and leaves the glass looking like the inside of a cotton-candy machine. As for the beer's hazy, pineapple-flesh complexion, well, that's less spectacular but expected for a bottle-conditioned ale.

The bouquet is surprisingly captivating considering it smells only moderately full; the resins are very soft, like wet leaves or flowers, and there's not a lot of citrus character (then again I don't find either the 60 or 90 Minute to be all that citrusy or fruity). Nothing really erupts - granted this bottle isn't exactly "fresh" - and there's a 'forest-y' aura that has an old book-like mustiness.

There's absolutely zero intensity or vigor on the palate, just lengthy, delicious earthy hop notes and a pacifying toasted honeycomb biscuit maltiness. The maple syrup really plays into the leafy, resiny qualities of the hops while the fruity papaya and pineapple notes of the hops really harmonize with the syrup and malt sweetness. What reciprocity! It has a very subtle power.

This earthy beer has an ideal temperament, like a perfectly steeped tea. It also has a chewy cookie dough-like taste and texture. Relatively speaking, it is hoppier than the 60 Minute, a bit denser than the 90, and nowhere the knockout on the palate that the 120 Minute is (though I'd be curious to find what a side-by-side tasting might turn up). It is the kind of beer that can stand to breath and, going by this sample, also withstand a few months in the bottle.

For a brewery infamous for odd experiments 75 Minute IPA is far from an intriguing blend, but it may be the best beer Dogfish Head has ever put in a 750ml bottle. A good IPA is not a concept that can be easily encapsulated by numbers but hand it to whoever thought to split the difference between the 60 and 90 Minute IPAs - I would take one of these over both of those.

Poured entire bottle (1 pt 9.4oz) into a 34oz mug; cloudy bright orange-yellow with lively carbonation and a thick head from even a careful pour. For a bit, even in the huge mug there was almost equal parts head to beer. Smell is classic IPA; hoppy and floral, with a bit of sugary sweetness hiding in there somewhere. Taste is very much classic IPA. Clean and sweet up front, hoppy and bitter to finish. This one is quite tame compared to some of the hop-bombs being produced nowadays, very drinkable. The maple syrup isn't really detectable as far as I can tell, although that could be the source of some of the extra sweetness in the beginning. Mouthfeel is fuller and a bit fizzy, but clean. Big chunky lacing is left on the mug as it's drunk, a very pretty beer. Overall this is a great happy medium from DFH; it has the clean drinkability and hoppiness of the 60 minute, plus some of the body and alcohol of the 90 minute.

Slight haze to this copper and brass colored beer. Good head and residual foam. Add to that the sticky lacing. Decent bubbling.

Mild sweet aroma mixes wel with the medium hoppy citrus and pine aromas. Then add some well toasted biscuity malt aromas. Smells like an awesome IPA.

You can taste the maple syrup right away well blended the toasty, biscuity, bread crusty malts.
The bitter finish is earthy and citric malts that cleanse the palate of the sweet start. Well balanced and flavorful IPA right here.

Palate is a bit sticky, but I like it. The sweet and bitter flavors linger nicely. Good sipping and enjoyable beer I will buy again.

1 pint 9.4 ounce bottle
Served in a nonic pint glass

A - It is tangerine colored with golden highlights. My first inattentive pour yielded a half a glass of tan head. Subsequent pours were about two inches.

S - As with 60 and 90 minute, this beer has a solid malt backbone. I get some caramel characteristics along with some alcohol and spruce.

T - It has a biscuit malt taste. The finish has plenty of pine flavor. I get a little maple in the aftertaste.

M - It is full bodied for an IPA. The mouthfeel reminds me of an English ale.

O - It has been awhile since I have had a 60 or 90 minute IPA. This beer is more malty than the IPA's I have been purchasing lately. I used to love the maltier IPA's when I was a young BA. I now prefer the citrus, mid-western style of this ale. It is a good beer, but it is no longer as agreeable as it once was with my palate.

Slightly hazy orange with a sticky, tight, creamy head. A very attractive looking beer with its bubbly covering and patchy lace. Plenty of hops in the aroma...grapefruit, apricot, pineapple, and other fruit on top of some toasted caramel, nuts, and maple. Big citrus, pine resin, grass, biscuit malt, and some alcohol. Pretty well-balanced...closer to 90 than 60. Medium bodied and slick with a firm bitterness and more appropriate carbonation than I expected, since the cap only gave a weak hiss when I popped it. Nice...

A: Medium orange color, tight white head with varying bubble sizes. Nice foaminess and randomly forming semi-slick lace. A mostly clear beer.

S: Apple, tropical fruits, pear, pineapple, lavendar, lilac and other floral scents. I do detect the maple syrup which blends in nicely with caramelly malts and especially well with the apple.

T: This is very enjoyable. Somewhere between 60 and 90 min + something else entirely. The hops are similarly bright flowery + fruity but there's more of a sweet, mellow dark side.

M: Slick, fullish, and appropriately carbonated. Decent texture.

O: A yummy endeavor.

750 mL bottle, with Eugene Levy's doppelganger on the label,

A: Pours a hazy apricot orange with a delicious looking frothy head, great retention, excellent lace, one of the best looking beers I've seen lately.

S: Heavy grapefruit and citrus, notes of wildflowers.

T: Great citrus heavy IPA, with an undercurrent of pine, oakwood, and maple syrup. Rich hop flavour, I think the bottle conditioning really adds something here.

M: Medium-bodied, though not as heavy as I would have thought. Resiny and long with hop aftertaste.

O: This is a really good IPA, but the price is horrendous. Unfortunately, this is a one time by for me unless I can find it on-tap.

1 pt 9.4 fl oz brown glass bottle (bottled on 1/25/13) served in a pint glass, reviewed live:

A - Pours a tall, thick three finger cream colored head. Color is a hazy golden orange. Retention is damn good and it leaves tight lacing as it recedes.

S - Pleasant floral and piney hops dominate the nose but it's far from resinous. A bit perfumy, even. The hops seem muted though. Caramel undertones. I'd expected sweeter given the addition of the maple. Mild strength.

T - Musty pine hops and faint lemon zest. The maple's there, and it upsets the balance. Bitter finish. Stale base malts and mishandled caramel. Subdued earthy yeast. The alcohol is surprisingly noticeable at 7.5%. Mundane.

M - Crisp. A bit thick and oily.

D - It's far from a bad beer, but I'd honestly expected a lot more from this one. Having been disappointed by the other "minute" IPA's, I guess I should have known.

This is one well crafted beer. Pours a rich straw orange with some fantastic lacing.

Smells of piney sweet hops with some caramel malts in the background.

Taste hits first with the piney hops and transitions to the more sweeter maple malt character. It's pretty fantastic.

Mouthfeel is fairly viscous yet carbonated.

Overall this is a fantastic beer from DFH. One I've had multiple times now and doesn't disappoint.

Poured from a bomber into my DFH signature glass

A- pours a clear dark copper color, nice steady stream of bubbles rise to the surface, a one finger white fluffy head appears on the pour and dissipates after a few minutes, decent lace left on the glass

S- sweet and hoppy, citrus fruits, slightly woody, i'm getting some spices mostly pepper

T- starts light and sweet, moves into a pretty strong hop punch, woodiness, the hops are more grassy than citrus, i feel like the flavor is lacking

M- medium-light body with a silky feel, fairly high carbonation, finishes dry and clean

O- I wasn't impressed with this one, i wish the hops would have brought a little more character to this brew, i'm kinda surprised everyone else rated it so highly, 60 and 90 are much better brews from DFH

Poured into a pint glass out of a 750ml bottle.

Pours a slightly hazy dark gold with just the tiniest bit of a fizzy head. Some bubbles form a ring around the top of the beer but it is really unremarkable.

The aroma is really a great balance of malt and hops with lots of earthy notes. Pine and tree bark from the hops works very well with the caramel from the malt and from the maple syrup I presume.

The flavor is a pretty straightforward continuation of the aroma characteristics although not quite as impressive. The hop flavors are somewhat muted with more caramel/syrup flavors coming through. There almost a quick shot of ginger up front before transitioning to a quick shot of piny hops before the caramel and a little roast comes rushing in. It all works well together but is just a little bit boring. Bitterness is light to moderate with just a very slight stickyness on the finish.

Overall, a decent IPA from Dogfish Head but far from spectacular. Glad I managed to find it but not really one worth going out of your way to pick up.

Pours out a really clear yellow amber with three fingers of very creamy white suds. Lacing around the glass.
Smell is malty sugar and booze along with some lemon peel.
Taste is strictly grapefruit rind and sugar malts. Otherwise this is very bland. Mabey it has been in the bottle too long. I do reserve the right to try this again.
Mouthfeel is a little sticky and the flavors leave very quickly leaving a lemon pledge sort of film on the toungue.
Overall this is a pretty good beer but very dissapointing knowing how 60 min and 90 min taste.

Whipped up white head of mostly larger bubbles, dimples if not craters, the lacing is a little less sticky than expected, overall the retention is decent. Cloudy bright orange to yellow hued liquid, no bubbles visible. The nose is soft and actually unassuming, emphasizes sweet orange, grapefruit citrus, maple of course, pine sap and cocoa, smells like a bowl of fresh fruit with melon, grape, peach and apple scents, fresh and floral with nary a trace of bitterness and no booziness either. In the mouth it’s medium-bodied with a light fluffiness from the broad spreading carbonation. Has a drying texture underneath which sucks out the excess sweetness from the pink grapefruit, tangerine, lime citrus and peach, apricot, pineapple fruit. Here too leans on more agreeable pine, flowers and malted milk balls than hoppy bite, this causing the effect of a more easy drinking style but leaves you wanting in the complexity department. Sweet orange pekoe tea. The maple is there yet not really a major factor, could just as easily be called honey or caramelized brown sugar, just a thread in the weave. At times could be a sweetened oatmeal breakfast with a slice of grapefruit on the side. While quite nice, not something you’d especially remember even if you’d be happy if someone handed you a glass of it.

1 pint 9.4 fl oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Was going to wait until tomorrow morning to crack this one, but I figured I would just nightcap tonight with it instead.

Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.

A - Pours a nice light burnt orange color with about a quarter inch of white foam head on top. A few lazy bubbles floating to the top. Very nice looking rings of lacing. Second pour yielded about three fingers of fluffy head with pretty nice retention.

S - Smells of fresh peaches and mango. Very fruity smelling upfront. Some spicy bitter hop presence.

T - Strong bitter hop flavors, but not overly dominant in the sense that the Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA was. Calm, light fruity / floral notes tone it down in the finish. Perhaps a slight sweetness from the maple syrup in the end? Some burnt brown sugar flavor, also. Some warmth from the alcohol and the hop bitterness.

M - Feel ends with the bittering hops fading away to a smooth creamy sweetness. Medium bodied, medium balance. Decent levels of carbonation. Leaves a nice taste in my mouth, I can say with assurance.

Overall, a moderate beer, but doesn't live up to the hype. Was hoping for a more prominent maple syrup flavor in the profile. Pretty standard brew from Dogfish Head, much akin to the Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA or a more toned down version of the Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, and not really breaking any new ground. Kind of a gimmick type brew in the Dogfish Head portfolio, one to try once and then skip the next time. The Dogfish Head Robert Johnson's Hellhound On My Ale is a far better IPA.

A hazy yellow-orange beer with medium carbonation and an ephemeral head.

Aroma of pine, grapefruit, mild floral, caramel and maple with a medium intensity for the style.

Flavor is like the aroma, but the maple doesn't add much to the flavor. Mild sweetness and medium bitterness with a medium sustain.

Overall, it's well made IPA that was free of defects. The alcohol was well hidden and the bitterness wasn't too extreme. Enjoyable.

750mL bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 8.99. Bottled in 2012 (when? Who knows- the rest of the numbers are smeared/faded). Served in a Dogfish Head snifter.

Pours orange gold with two foamy fingers of pale head that leave dozens of tiny lace spots.

Smells of piney, floral and earthy hops and a distinct sweet note of maple hiding in the background.

Taste is sweetish from the start with abundant citrus and pine hops, floral, maple syrup, toast, caramel and a little spice. No real alcohol presence in the flavor. A unique and enjoyable blend of hops and sweetness.

The feel is truly outstanding for an IPA. Oily slick but velvety smooth medium body with a subtle yet lively zest of carbonation. Long, sweet, dry, piney maple aftertaste.

This is a mighty fine IPA. Unique as well. I couldn't necessarily drink it all the time but finished the bottle on my own and I'd happily drink more. This once in a while treat is worth trying.

A- Pours a beautifully cloudy light orange that glows brightly as I hold it to the light. The head is booming rising all the way to the top of the glass and leaving some great lacing.

S- Tons of hop aroma right away leading into some orangey citrus notes. A little bit of yeasty notes as well.

T- Very well rounded here. A bit sweet from the start, I'm guessing from the maple syrup and then a great bit of hop bite on the back end. The bitterness is good, and there's a continuing orangey feel, but the balanced complexity is what is leaving a wonderful lasting impression.

M- So smooth! There's hop bitterness but not a ton of hop bite. Very effervescent/ well carbonated from the bottle conditioning.

O- I love this beer. It's up there as one of my favorites. It's very well balanced, velvety smooth, sweet, bitter, bubbly, and awesome. I could drink it everyday... and if i had the ability to, I probably would.

Picked up a 750 ml bottle from the Arrowhead AJ's today for $9.99. I gave up trying to find it in the fall but stumbled upon it today. Bottling date indicates 2012G which i believe that it was bottled in December per a BA thread.

Beer poured with sediment with a nice large white head that is leaving even lacing down my glass.

Nose is nice floral hops.

Taste is very well balanced, is not as sweet as anticipated, finishes with a floral and citrus hop.

Mouthfeel is very smooth yet it is carbonated as an IPA should be.

Overall this is a solid, enjoyable, and well balanced beer. Reminds me of an super strong English IPA as opposed to an American IPA. Glad i had the opportunity to try!

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a large tulip glass. The smell was of molasses and syrup with strong piney-hop influence. I would describe the color that of clover honey. The taste was moderate pine hops up front with a mild malt backbone and a slight lingering bitter finish. Mouthfeel was perhaps the best characteristic of the beer, a light/medium, very pleasant, making it easy to finish the bottle unassisted. Overall though, I found this beer to be between average and good.

750 ml bottle served in a DFH IPA glass. Bottled late 2012.

A: Pours a solid amber color with dark yellow highlights in the base. A thick, off-white head forms on the pour and recedes slowly to a thick cap. Tons of sticky lace are left down the glass.

S: Flowery, almost perfume-like, with a leafy herbal like quality to it. Some grapefruit rind with a little bready maltiness to it. Light sugary, maple sweetness to it on the back end as well.

T: Bitter herbal hops, some nice bursts of citrus and a little grapefruit rind as well. The finish has a little pine, oat malts and a little sugary sweetness.

M: Medium bodied with a medium high carbonation level. The texture isn't chewy, but slightly creamy and not as crisp as a normal IPA. Still easy drinking with nice residual hop bitterness that lingers.

O: This was very solid and I'd probably put it at number three behind 60 and 90 minute. I'm glad I got a chance to try this and it's a must try for any IPA fan.
