I have had the Pliny's and other top rated IPAs and I must say this is right up there!

I know people are quick to say this a combo of 60 and 90 minute and as an avid Dogfish IPA drinker this far from the truth!

This beer is much smoother with a golden color and smooth taste from start to finish! Since fermented in a cask it doesn;t have the harshness that forced carbonation has! Much much smoother!

I had this several times at Rehoboth Brew Pub. I think that people who have left less than stellar reviews haven't had the best batch or the bar didn't handle it properly. Everytime I've had it at the Brewpub it has been stellar!

Meadhall in Cambridge for 12 Brewers of Christmas.

A: Super hazy, thick, golden orange yellow. Looks like fresh pressed apple cider. Big frothy white head that fades into huge lace and good retention.

"Holy shit!" This applies to both smell and taste.

S: Incredible bouquet of honey, fresh fruit, wildflowers, fresh mountain air, earth, more fruit, something more I can't describe. Unbelievable nose. Better than a 5.

T: now this is what an IPA on cask should taste like! Huge onslaught of bright american hops followed by honey, fresh cut grass, earth, some wood, ripe fruit, yeast, and a touch of malt. The sweet sugary malt shows up as does the maple syrup, albeit very faint. It does contribute to the balance, though, because the hops can be powerful at times.

M: Massive, complex flavors, crazy balanced, and superbly crafted. Can be a tad cloying and almost too thick of a body for the style after a few successive sips. But the flavors erase those deficiencies.

O: This is the real deal. Beers like this are why I will never hate on Dogfish nor Sam for his ambition. Some beers are hit or miss but overall the love is there and beers like this are there. This is a phenomenal beer.

A - Pours a hazy golden color with a huge frothy head with amazing lacing.

S - Floral hops, slight pinyness, orange, honey, and maple. You can really tell that this was dry hopped. Very nice.

T - Nice floral hops mix with a little bit of malt to provide a wonderful balance. There are some citrus flavors, honey, and maple as well. The best of both worlds when it comes to the strengths of the 60 and 90 minute IPAs

M - Amazing, so velvety and smooth. The beer has a nice billowy feel to it. The maple is most noticeable here (in a very good way). Very drinkable and great carbonation levels.

O - The 75 Minute may be the best IPA in DFH's arsenal. It has amazing moutfeel and is really tasty. I would love to see this become a year-rounder (and to come in 12 oz. bottles). An all-around great beer.

Into a pint glass:

A: light golden orange colored body leaving a two finger white foamy head that is probably one of the most beautiful looking heads of any beer I've ever seen in my entire life. Beautiful foamy lacing clings yet gently slides down the glass

S: maple syrup up front, but not overbearing, because I can still smell the hops, some light grapefruit and some light malts

T: spectacular as the maple syrup, hops, grapefruit and malts combine in a wonderful combination

M: awesomely smooth and sticky, but a nice stickiness. It is medium bodied. The drinkability is moderate, I'll have no problem finishing off the bomber, but that'll probably be it for the night

O: so glad I finally found this as I've been searching for this for an exceptionally long time. Well worth the wait and I may have to go pick up some more bombers of this. If this doesn't make one a fan of American IPA's, nothing will. As of today, this is my all time favorite Dogfish Head beer.

On cask at Lord Hobo in Cambridge, MA in April 2010.

What a beer.

Slightly hazy copper amber. Frothy/foamy white head which left decent lacing. Low carbonation.

Tasted of sweet caramel malts balanced by the perfect amount of hoppiness.

Incredibly smooth drinking and perfectly balanced. One of the best beers I have ever tried. Could drink all night. I really don't taste how this is a blend of the 60 and 90 minute, there must be some kind of magic at work in there.

Perfect balance of the 60 and 90 minute IPAs. Pours closer to the color of the 90 - nice brown to amber. Significant head - sometimes too much but not a big deal. Head clings to the side of the glass, cup, whatever. Great fresh hop smell. Taste is better than both the 60 & 90 for me - the bottle conditioning with the maple syrup is present and gives the hops a sweet flavor. A favorite no doubt.

The difference between tasting this beer poured from the cask and drinking it from a bottle is akin to the difference between the minor and the major leagues.

From the cask this beer has the perfect aroma of citrus and hops.

The greatest thing is how it feels. It is dangerous drink since it feels creamy and pleasurable, like a tall glass of chocolate milk.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a Dogfish Head Signature glass. This one was delivered to the beverage center on Thursday, consumed on Saturday.

A: Hazy light golden color. Aggressive pour leads to a humongous three finger head that fades around the outside leaving a rock-of-gibraltar sized island in the middle. The lacing is thick, heavy and coats the glass with passion.

S: Wonderful piney resin hops with grapefruit zest and sneaky good malt backbone shining through for good measure. There is a huge sweet aroma to it and I'm sure it's the maple syrup but it's hard to pick up. This is a very excellent smelling beer.

T: Perfectly balanced mix of bitter hops and sweet malts with an obvious subtle mix of maple syrup at the end of the taste. The 60 and the 90 play nicely off of one another. At this point I'm a bigger fan of the 60 due to its drinkability but I hold a serious place in my heart for the 90 due to the fact that it is responsible for getting me into craft beer and both flavor profiles mixed together in one beer make on hell of a good tasting beer.

M: Perfectly carbonated, medium bodied. Creamy, bitter finish leads me to pick up the glass over and over making this 750 go quickly.

O: This is a beer that sets the bar in my mind for IPAs. It's hoppy, it's got a subtle, yet supremely delicious malt profile, it's got an out-of-left-field quality with the maple syrup that I think sets it apart from other IPAs. It's not an IIPA but the appearance tells me otherwise. The ABV is a perfect 7.5%...just high enough to get me moving, and yet low enough to not worry about finishing the bomber on my own. Bravo, Sam et al. at DFH. You have yet another masterpiece although I'm still bummed you axed Squall...

Enjoyed this bomber bottle out of a large snifter glass.

A: Pours a copper hue with a hue 4-finger, white, frothy, head that slowly dissipates into a wispy lace – leaving a gorgeous trail all the way down the glass.

S: Strong hoppy aroma with hints of citrus and pine in the background.

T: Hoppy and crisp bitter flavor with a nice alcoholic bite. Slightly citrus background with a little but of pine which was similar to the smell.

M: Very strong and boozy but masked well by the hops. Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: Wow – I think this the best IPA by Dogfish head. 120 is too over the top, 90 is very good, and 60 is pretty good. But 75 has the perfect balance of alcohol and hops!

A - Pours a hazy golden-orange color with a finger of frothy slightly off-white head. The head fades down slowly leaving behind some nice lace.

S - Aroma is a mix of strong citrus and grapefruit hops with some pine, maple syrup, sweet caramel malts, and a bit of bready malt.

T - Starts off with some citrus, orange, and grapefruit hops with some bitterness and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, some pine hoos come through with some more bitterness and some maple syrup. The finish is a mix of pine and grapefruit hops and bitterness with some sweet malts and some maple syrup sweetness.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.

D - Very drinkable. Excellent balance of malt and hop flavor with a good amount of bitterness and a great smoothness created by the maple syrup.

Pours amber in body with a creamy, white fluff head that lasts. Aroma of grapefruit, wet grass, citrus with rind, juice. Flavors of citrus, grapefruit, thick syrupy malt, wet grass, biscuit, and a tad of vanilla with big bitterness. Incredibly smooth and thick in body, almost no carbonation. Heavy in body with great warming characteristics. This is my favorite DFH offering, an experience you have to take part in.

750 milliliter bottle. Decanted into a pint glass.
Appearance: Almost perfectly clear copper. Billowy, persistent head.
Smell: There’s an IPA somewhere in this glass, but it’s buried under a pile of maple syrup. Let me see if I can find it…
Taste: Yup. There it is. Very nice citrus bite, with a touch of wood and maple syrup. The malt gives a subtle caramel flavor and the finish is bitter and almost minty.
Mouthfeel: Very soft and smooth.
Overall: Unbelievably drinkable. I want to bathe in it. Makes me wish I bought a case instead of just one bottle.

Drank on-tap at Luce Restaurant, Middletown, CT
Served in a pint glass

Stunning appearance. Golden-amber and nearly crystal clear with a tight, foamy, light beige head that slowly faded to a resilient cap of froth. A lattice work of webbed lacing stuck all down the sides of the glass, lasting long after the beer was finished.

The aroma was hoppy. Zesty and citrusy with notes of candied orange peel and ruby red grapefruit. Sweet caramel malts were noticeable as well.

The taste was similar to the aroma except far more punchy and complex. Brown sugar notes played out in the malty sweetness before the hops took center stage. American, c-type hops dominated the hop profile. Citrus notes came through loud and clear. Grapefruit dominated but orange peel and suble tropical fruit flavors appeared as well. The finish was pure pine sap. Sticky and resiny yet well balanced overall. Wow.

The mouthfeel was everything a great IPA should be. Medium-full bodied. Soft and pillowy. Creamy and smooth with a fine, tongue caressing effervescence.

Drinkabilty was amazing. Aside from the fact that this beer is so tasty and balanced, I was simply astonished that it weighed in at a lofty 7.5% ABV. Dangerously sessionable, to say the least.

I usually tend to think of beer blends as gimmicks but 75 Minute IPA has changed my mind on that notion. This beer combines of sweetness and complexities of Dogfish Heads's 90 Minute IPA with the pure hoppiness and drinkability of their 60 Minute IPA. I cannot wait for this one to be bottled.

I had this on tap at the Dogfish Alehouse in Fairfax VA - Served in a pint glass

The wife and I traveled a little out of our way from IKEA to hit this place just because I had to.. we were so close anyway right?? :P

The beer was pretty, awesome lacing, sticky as hell.

Smelled like the 90 minute, shazam hops!

Tasted incredible, It was a perfect mid way point from the 60 to the 90. for me it was like the body of the 60 and the smell and bitterness of the 90

Mouthfeel was great, lots of body and it drank wonderfully, not to much ABV for me, perfect!

Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA

Appearance: Warning: after pouring you, the drinker, will have to wait several minutes for the massive four to five finger plume of rocky, bone-white head to dissipate. Perhaps reading a Dostoevsky would pass the time nicely. Of course admiring the been-there, done-that, golden color with just the faintest hint of orange might be a constructive use of the time as well. Finished? Great. The incredibly large head you have been waiting on is made up of varying sizes of bubbles running the gamut from soapsuds to pinheads, which makes for an interesting and novel spectacle. Once the head finally caves, it leaves behind the appearance of a ruined soufflé, which is not as unattractive as it would be in the cooking world. Lacing is as massive and stubborn as the head. The carbonation in the glass is not as active as one would be led to believe by its white crown, but it is somewhat difficult to tell with perfect certainty due to the cloudiness of the liquid. A great looking head on a beer of the shade all beer drinkers have seen before.

Aroma: The nose is extremely malt forward, as in this beer’s two constituent beers the great 60 Minute IPA and 90 Minute IPA, both mainstays in their respective style. Resiny hops back up the sweet malts brilliantly, adding another layer of sweetness. The sugar just keeps assaulting the nose in the form of the maple syrup that this mix is bottle-conditioned with. Surprisingly, there is little bitterness here, but perhaps it is simply hidden by the sweet behemoth of aroma that this beer puts forth. Caramel notes mixed with mild tropical fruit are the simplest and most obvious notes, and while those are typical of IPAs (especially its parents) this one smells like it got lost in a candy store on the way to the drinker’s mouth. This is really great stuff.

Taste: Right up front, oddly enough, the hops bring the bitter. Of course, as is expected based on the aroma, the malt and maple sweetness snatches the reins almost immediately and never lets go; fortunately, the hops manage to keep their own restraints on the sweetness and do an excellent job of making this beer one of the most balanced that have passed these lips. In short, the highly acclaimed 60 and 90 Minute IPAs combined in a bottle-conditioned environment with a delicious maple syrup addition (that miraculously is not cloying, and is actually well-hidden as a bit of a beer Easter Egg that the drinker knows is there from the get-go) makes for as great of a beer as one would expect; anything less would be a disappointment.

Mouthfeel: This is so drinkable it should be illegal to own more than one at a time. It is practically the Pringles of the beer world. The body is a perfect, creamy medium, so this stuff goes down like delicious-tasting, slightly thickened water. There is a bit of warmth from the alcohol (at only 7.5% ABV), but it is extremely slight and quite pleasant. The one serious blemish on this beer comes in on the palate, however: there is very little carbonation. Perhaps this should not be an issue, but in a beer as complex as this one (two different IPAs, each complex concoctions in their own right, plus the richness of maple syrup) carbonation would have really helped out to spread the flavors around and make sure that every bit of this otherwise-stellar beer got its turn in the spotlight. Still, the drinkability makes up for this because it goes down criminally easy.

Overall: This is a must have not only for hop lovers as the title (and Dogfish Head themselves) suggests but for any and every craft beer drinker. This is such a drinkable beer that I am slightly upset that Dogfish Head has not released these in four- or six-packs yet. The bomber is great, but the quaffability begs for a four- or six-pack treatment. The worst part (or best, really) is the undeniable fact that this beer gets better as it warms and you drink more of it. Dogfish Head, come back to Wisconsin. I need this in my fridge at all times… 18/20

Pours a clear amber color with a nice tight head which gives way to nice lacing the whole way down the glass. The aroma is of caramel malts with some brown sugar as well as a little citrus and earthy hops. The taste is fantastic it starts off with a caramel malt and sweet malt taste with hints of brown sugar sweetness. After the malt taste a nice citrus and earthy hop taste takes over. It is like a perfect combination of the 90 min and the 60 min. The mouthfeel is medium bodied. The drinkability is also fantastic you could easily drink these all night and continue to want more. There is more than enough flavor to keep you interested with nothing to dislike.

Poured entire bottle (1 pt 9.4oz) into a 34oz mug; cloudy bright orange-yellow with lively carbonation and a thick head from even a careful pour. For a bit, even in the huge mug there was almost equal parts head to beer. Smell is classic IPA; hoppy and floral, with a bit of sugary sweetness hiding in there somewhere. Taste is very much classic IPA. Clean and sweet up front, hoppy and bitter to finish. This one is quite tame compared to some of the hop-bombs being produced nowadays, very drinkable. The maple syrup isn't really detectable as far as I can tell, although that could be the source of some of the extra sweetness in the beginning. Mouthfeel is fuller and a bit fizzy, but clean. Big chunky lacing is left on the mug as it's drunk, a very pretty beer. Overall this is a great happy medium from DFH; it has the clean drinkability and hoppiness of the 60 minute, plus some of the body and alcohol of the 90 minute.

Going to the DFH Pub for the first time, this one was a must-get and I wasn't disappointed at all... one of the best beers I've ever laid my lips on. The super hoppiness of the 60/90 minute IPA's, but balanced with some nice caramel syrup to give it a great mouthfeel. This beer's flavor is delicious and goes down way too easy, would definitely go back there just for another pint of this!

The beer is a true golden color with a slight haziness. The head poured to an enormous level! 4 inches or beer produced 5 inches of head! (Note: My serving size is technically "bottle", but the 750ml bottle).

The smell is really nice! Layers of hops, acidic citrus (grapefruit and lemon), and then the subtle malt sweetness that rounds out the scent and makes me drool like a child...

Man, it tastes good! Hoppy up front, then this rush of natural citrus and sweetness all at the same time, followed by a smooth and dry finish. Usually beers achieve one or two of these characteristics but this brew combines them all into a single bottle that whispers "drink me now"...

Mouthfeel is interesting. It is smooth in the mouth but carbonated once you swallow (I know, I know, but there was no better way to say it). It is almost too carbonated but I still gave it a good score because few beers can achieve that balance, and the smooth is really nice.

Overall this beer is fantastic, a new favorite of mine. Even if you do not like IPA's, it is worth a try. I live in Delaware and have easy, tax free access to these brews but I try my best not too be too subjective or biased. Nice brew!

Had this at the Alehouse when I was in Virginia visiting the sis.

This is one beautiful brew....very dark amber color with this big fluffy white head that stays and stays...

Huge pungent piney aroma rolls out of the glass at me... Smells very similar to the 90 Minute but perhaps not quite as boozy..

This combines the piney hoppiness and malty sweetness very well.. Its hoppy and piney and pungent but at the same time, sweet and malty and delicious.. This is terrific!

I could drink these til my head hit the table so that should say something about the drinkability...

Awesome brew..

S-strong scent of fresh citrusy hops with a touch of barley. strong and complex.

T-comes in with a smooth taste of fresh citrusy hops, again with a touch of barley. a citrusy bitterness sticks to the tongue. good matching after-taste. very creamy.

M-very creamy, almost watery with a creamy finish. expected considering being from the cask

O-it is good. it definitely does taste like something in between the 90 and the 60. i'm not getting any maple at all. i'm appreciating the cask aspect. i'd definitely get this again. i'll be on the look out for the bottled version.

Whoa, great stuff! Beautiful hazy orange yellow with a foamy creamy white head, great lacing and retention. Smells of pungent tropical fruits - apricot, orange, grapefruit, and pineapple - caramel malt sweetness from the maple syrup I presume. Tasted refreshing, smooth, bitter and astringent - big citrus/tropical fruits, great malt backbone. Feels incredible - velvety smooth medium/full. Overall a fantastic incredible beer.

I had this at The grey lodge pub in the Northeast. Poured into a the dogfish head pint glass. Poured an amberish hazy color with golden highlight's. Left no lacing at all.

Smell was mostly of citrus hops some sweet maltiness that followed.

Taste was the best of both worlds. A beautiful nice citrus hoppy taste with a sweet maltiness to it on the backend. Also the aftertaste was a dry grapefruit taste.

Mouth was completely flat really no carbonation whatsoever.

Drink was very good I had two of these within I believe 10 mins.

Amazing brew one of the best that dogfish head has to offer IMO. Moreso that the 60 min and 90 min. My wife and I got there just in time when they just tapped it. When we ordered the second time our last two there was so much white sediment at the bottom of the glass it was pourely of hops. IT was great and we found out the keg was kicked when I returned with our drinks.

Poured into a Weyerbacher Tulip glass

A. Golden Yellow with a very prominent white fluffy head that persists and clings to the glass. Lacing sticks around.

S. a very nice floral aroma without an "in your face" hop bomb aroma.

T. You get exactly what you smell a well balanced floral and subtle hop taste. This could be a great beer for people looking for a complex beer in the IPA style. I do not taste, and am glad that the maple syrup seems to tone down the hops and not "lead the band".

M. A very smooth pleasant first sip with a real balance   Hop profile sneaks in after and clearly tells you this is an IPA, but not as prominently as even 60 minute.

O. As with all Dogfish beers the crafting is clear. The drinkability of this beer is fantastic. I will seek and ensure I have one of these bottles around so that when looking for a great IPA, I have one. Non IPA lovers may find this a great way into the style.
