A: copperish red, 1/2 finger khaki head. Medium bubbles.

S: sweet, caramel, bread, raisins and hint of medicinal-ness.

T: sweet, caramel, tinge of astringency, malty bready, alcohol and once again sweetness at the finish.

M: medium bodied and carbed. Sweet.

O: I'm not into it. Not boozy but alcohol is there. Not fruity but slight raisin there. Not good so ok.

This is the Belgian (dark) strong ale that got me hooked into the category. The beer has a terrific complexity ranging from a caramel toffee to spiced banana and each sip finishes with a welcoming alcoholic punch and smooth mouthfeel. Hard to describe but certainly worth seeking out at under $10 for a 6-pack. Well done DFH.
