Picked up a 6 today, as it just came out. Brew date on bottle was 10/31/08. Poured into a pint glass, that was liberated from the Sunset Grill.

A: Dark, with thin carmel colored lacing.

S: Didn't get a heavy scent, could be my cold. From what I could smell, there was coffee.

T: Good, slight bitterness up front, with an aftertaste of dark-roasted coffee. Forgive me, but I have no idea what chicory tastes like, that being said, the aftertaste had a slight presence of something else....maybe it was chicory.

M: Thin, more like a porter, with slight carbonation.

D: At 5.2% very drinkable. If you enjoy coffee, or better yet, coffee porters.

My verdict is that this is a great beer. It is not very stout-like at all though. It tastes like a coffee-porter, same body as well. If you are into porters and dark-roasted coffee, go for it! Dogfish always makes a great brew, so its worth a try.
