Pours a nice stout black, huge head, subtle lacing. Good looking beer but nothing special.

Smells awfully spicy, some clove in there which strikes me as unusual for a stout. There is also a prominent toasty and roasted chocolaty/coffee scent there which is to be expected for a stout.

Taste is strangely bitter and spicy. Not a tingly spice. There are a lot of roasted hops there which screams American stout. Not much coffee taste, but roasted nonetheless.

The mouth feel is where the beer falls short. There is a lot of carbonation, but it's a bit too much. As the beer flattens with warmth the flavor becomes more apparent but the weaknesses in the beer's palate become visible as well. This is a thin stout, way too thin from what I expect from a porter or stout. Not good.

It's drinkable, but very thin. Overall this is enjoyable, but falls extremely short of the bar set by Dogfish Head's World Wide Stout. Average effort.
