This is delicious. I had this first at the AOBF and could not wait to have it again. Nice cloudy-ish color and a mouthfeel that is a bit syrupy (but not over the top). Definitely a STRONG Pils. A bit sweet at first but you get used to it very quick. The alcohol comes out a bit but for the most part it is hidden. Definitely not something you wantto drink all night but start with one or two.

From notes.... apparently a few years ago now... I'm not sure this will ever be made again. In any case, tasted with Eddie Friedland in his warehouse in north Philly after a long day of receiving and shipping beer.
Appearance: Pale yellow gold. Slight haze. Frothy white head. Tenatious rising bubbles.
Nose: Floral/spicy hops. Lots of malt. Expecting something more American.... more European.
Flavor: Big fat malt. Almost sloppy. The hops win the aroma, but lose in the flavor. Bitterness is surprisingly low considering the girth... solid, and present, but not formidable. Some alcohol is noticeable. Finishes with little fanfare. A smear of hops, some sticky malt, some dull bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Dextrinous, medium to medium-full bodied. Median carb.
Drinkability: Hard to tell from a small sample.... need to try again. Seems tasty, but without finesse. Lacks "snap".

Sitting in the DFH brewpub with a pint glass in front of me. Well this beer must have been redesigned because it is different from how other people have desrcibed it. Well first it is a beautiful straw with a slight oragne tinge. A nice white head breaks way to a good lace down the glass. The first smell made me drool, it was loaded with soft and pugent hops all riding a gentle wave of a german pils and a little alcohol to give you a warning. The taste is strong and surprisingly the malt jumped out at me first with a real pilsner taste then came a wash of hops that was fruit bubblegum with some pine tossed in surrounded by alcohol warmness. I could drink this all day for the taste alone but at 9% I would be checking out a little early. A must try when found.

Had this on-tap at Monk's Cafe in Philly.
The nose is attacked by huge abv warmth and hop bitterness as well. Smells belgian? Very sweet fruity strong taste with a sweet tang at the end. Not like any pils I have ever tasted. Shockingly sweet and tangy. Pale peach color in the glass. Medium mouth. Not my idea of a pils.. not very drinkable due to the dominant ABV taste..

Light gold color. Medium head. Aroma is grainy, fruity and slightly sweet. A full bodied pilsner. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are spicy and a touch of grapefruit. Very smooth taste. Creamy and nearly buttery. Very soft carbonation. A really nice pilsner. Hides the 9% alcohol extremely well, cant believe that its 9% ABV. Mouthfeel is soft, full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Thanks to hopsrus for this one.

Poured a darker color for a pilsener, a moderately hazy ambered gold. Had a thin very soft head and no lace or stain. Fell about my pilsener glass thicker than a typical pils; strange but not too much of a turn-off.
Smelled of sweet amber and pale malt, a little grainy, with very faint floral hops. Taste was very malty, sweetly of an amber kind of malt but with the soft and even tone of a classic pale malt. Also had some grainy taste and feel in a roasted way, with small hallertau hops near the end. Its short finish was surprisingly sweetish. A moderate mouthfeel, thicker than normal for the style.
Another extreme but inconsistent Dogfish Head beer that came out more malty than hoppy, like their 120 Minute sometimes does.

The beer poured a slightly hazy deep golden color with a thick head that lasted through the entire drink. Nice floral aroma. The first taste left me dazzled, thick maltiness with decent bitterness. The malt and bitterness lasted equally long on the tongue. The high alcohol was not as noticeble as I thought it would be, which made this an extremely drinkable beer. I am glad I had a chance to sample this, and others should seek it out.

Presentation: On tap @ Anam Cara in Brookline, MA.
Appearance: A certain cloudiness shows this beer as unfiltered and the bubbles that struggle to the top show that the beer has some body to it.
Smell: Bubble gum and cotton candy, rose like alcoholic esters and solvent like fusel aromas intoxicate the nose.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Smooth and slick on the tongue and brandishing a big spicy alcoholic character. Hops add to the spiciness and the alcohol does not hold back. Quick flavours of malt sweetness push through the alcohol flavour and the finish is more linger alcoholic warmth.
Notes: This beer is a kick in the pants and my first micro malt liquor.

Sampled vom Fass at Anam Cara with a BA gang....
This is not your ordinary Pils! Had a bit of a cloudy, medium-golden color, with a fine, but short, creamy white head. Lacing was fairly good, as well. The nose showed off a lot of sweet, bready malt aromas, with not too much indication of hoppiness. Mouthfeel was oh-so-nice! Body was medium, and it had a smooth, creamy feel on the tongue. A heavy, bready malt flavor, with an abundance of sweetness, dominated the taste-buds. A touch of spiciness adds some zest to the proceedings. Oddly, I found it quite mild on the hop-o-meter. Nonetheless, it had a spell-binding flavor which made me yearn for more and more, despite the 9% abv. That, in itself, made the tummy nice and warm! Zum Wohl!!

I had this on tap at Redbones on 07/30. I was very excited to see it on.
Golden straw colored (clear) with a nice quarter inch head that lasted and left a beautiful lace. Very sweet smell that I got everytime I picked it up. The beer felt very thick in my mouth, you could tell it was a "hefty" beer.
The taste was sweet, citrusy and sharp in the middle and in the end. The alcohol was present and I got that warming feeling. (The great thing is 'Bones serves this in pints!)
I actually found it drinkable for what it is. The more I drank the smoother it became. Not as dimensional as I expected. Do they bottle this?

On-tap at Capital Ale House.
Wow. This is one awesome beer! A rich-lloking golden color with a nice tuft of white head. All sorts of aromas are noted...hoppy spicy/citrus notes, sweet caramel, and the alcohol. Flavor is excellent, too. Dry-hopped for 6 weeks and it shows. Lots of different taste sensations roll across the palate. Spciy, sweet, a touch of bitterness, and a dash of warmth from the alcohol. 9% ABV? No way. This one went down far too smoothly (and quickly) to be a hefty 9%. Mouthfeel was smooth. Drinkability is very high as well. Another excellent creation from the folks at DFH.

A huge thanks to hoprus for getting me this beauty. It pours a stunning clear amber color with a tightly bubbled white head. The aroma is malty. The flavors are both malty and hoppy. The maltiness is up front and the hoppiness is on the finish. This is wonderful. Why can't other pilseners have flavors like this?

Golden yello beer. Nice head with big bubbles. Decent lacing. A very attractive beer. Really not much of an aroma. Tasty beer. A little malty. Very odd pilsner we got here. Creamy mouthfeel. Complex on the tongue. A little syrupy and thick, but still enjoyable. One was good.

What a neat take on a pilsner beer this was. Almost ale like, it was a little darker than your standard pils and certainly had a stronger and more noticeable aroma. Some floral hops in the nose, and a definite fruity citrus-like quality with a similarly light floral hop finish. Delicate and hardly something that I'd think was 9% abv. A very inspired beer.

Gold color with a huge white head. Hate those over foamy beers. Did I say hate? I guess this Prescription changes that. Noble hops, peppery aroma, slight sweetness (just a hint) as well. The taste is malty with a wonderful peppery hop taste as well. This is a great example of pushing the edge, maybe walking the edge, with great sense of balance. This is a fantabulous tasting beer. The mouthfeel is super smooth. Perfect. It's a barleywine/pilsner hybrid. It's got power, it's got grace. I need a bottle of this Prescription Pils. Great beer, great grewery, great name. Please bottle this one!

Served as a sample at the Penn Festival. The color was a fairly standard pilsner blonde, and it poured with a great deal of head. The smell was malty with a bit of an alcohol note. The taste was malty, and the alcohol was somewhat evident. The mouthfeel is smooth. As for drinkability, I think I could have a couple.
After the posts from the AOBF, I was excited to give it a try. For a lager, this was fairly good, and although I'm more into the ales, if I saw this one somewhere I'd consider having another!
