From a 375 mL bottle, thanks DoubleJ,
A: Pours a deep goldenrod with a soft cap of white foam, light spotty lace.
S: The oak monster makes his apperance felt. One of the most heavily oaked beers I've ever smelled. Smells good though. Hints of CA Chardonnay, butter - not diacetyl though, sugar cane, floral stone fruit.
T: Notes of pear and peach, with nice underlying malt component. Heavy oak flavour. Very tasty.
M: Medium-bodied, elegant, a soft feel, delicate, you can tell the influence of the oak aging.
O: A very good beer; it has some flavours you don't taste everyday, but I'm clearly a fan. Well done Eisenbahn.

For Eisenbahn's 10th anniversary, they commemerated with a new beer. They brewed a pale doppelbock, took it over to the San Michele winery (a winery nearby the brewery, which also helps Eisenbahn make Lust and Lust Prestige) and aged the beer on French oak chips. The beer comes in a 375 ml bottle, corked and caged. Brought over by srbcurti, on to the beer:
A light orange color fills the glass, while whips of lace cling to the walls above it. The aroma screams oak. Oak, oak, oak. Sap, toasted sugar. A little bready sweetness is smellable behind the curtain of oak. Taste is dominant of oak, with a decent little doppelbock at the base, honey being the more idenifyable from the base. The beer is medium bodied, is lightly carbonated, and has the alcohol content hidden well.
Finding a pale doppelbock is not something you find everyday. Finding one aged in wood is unheard of. Eisenbahn did the unheard, and accomplished the mission with some success. I like the idea, but to nitpick, I think the doppelbock base could have played a bigger role with the oak. Whatever your preferences are, décimo feliz Eisenbahn!
