Draught at the brewpub, served in a snifter. The beer pours an inky black color with a thin light brown head that diminishes steadily. Thin sheet of lacing. The aroma is roasty with pungent earthy malt and caramel. Rich body with flavors of coffee, peat malt, caramel and dark fruit. The finish is roasted coffee and dark malt with a lingering sweet finish that is just this side of cloying. Overall the beer is a little disjointed but not bad.
