Been told to go here for a long time, since it is so close to home. Got there first thing in the morning and introduced myself to Ron, who I have heard many good things. We talked beer for about an half an hour before I started to pick some bottles out. He asked If I wanted a beer, because he was about to clean his draught lines. I did tell him no because it was a bit early for me. Six taps, all good stuff. Bottles warm and in coolers. I was also happy to see no macro stuff in there. Although, walking in looks more like a wine place, with the beer to the side and the taps hidden in the back. Nice place, will go back for selection and prices being a bit better than Pittsburgh.

This place is a goldmine for any local beer enthusiast. Almost overwhelming variety (a good thing) in both shelved and refrigerated selections. 3 or 4 different rooms, including a tasting room/mini bar with beers on tap. An outside deck to enjoy your selected taste on a nice day, and even glassware for sale. Great atmosphere that maintains the "feel" that you are in a beer store with a tasting room (good), as opposed to a bar with a beer store. I only have two complaints. 1) The beers are not displayed in an intuitive, obvious way of determining whats what, and where you would find what you are looking for. Sure, it makes sense to the ones that sock the shelves, because, well.. they stocked the shelves. But for a new customer, you really have to have someone take time to explain their setup, which still needs labeled or revised regardless. This leads me to the next complaint: 2) When I did ask for an explanation, personal beer recommendations, and so on, I felt as if I was putting them out. I had to ask 3 different times for help, each resulting in short, almost "stop-bothering-me", type answers, before a nice young lady from the tasting bar noticed that I was there and could use a little help. I should note that, at that particular time, the place was not busy at all. If it were, this lack of service may have been overlooked by me. However, there were probably 6 people on staff, yet it was just myself and another customer in the store at the time. In summary, this place needs to be more organized, or at least labeled a little better, and their staff needs to be trained in customer service and sales a bit more. A simple comment like the following would have made a world of difference: "Hi, welcome to Vintage Estate! Is this your first time here? Great!! Let me show you how we're set up... and by the way, I have a couple amazing beers you may not have tried yet, this one for example is an incredible ... ". If that were to have happened, I likely would have spent that extra $50 bucks in my pocket, walked away a happier customer, and been excited to try their suggestions that I had just purchased. Other than that, it's a craft beer lovers heaven.

This is easily one of the best places to find and buy beer in the world. I'm not that well traveled, but I find it hard to believe that there could be very many places that can even compete with Vintage Estate. The beer selection and prices are as good as anywhere you can go. Friendly people and a nice atmosphere as well.

Atmosphere - It is a little bit dark and dusty in this place, they have 3 sections to their store. One for wine/liquor, another is a pub serving 10 beers on draught and the middle is craft beer about 5 coolers full as well as walls full of beer
Quality & Selection - the selection here was excellent, lots of local brands, national brands as well as Belgian&German imports. If there is a place out there with more selection than this place, I'd love to visit. Negatives : a lot of the beers have layers of dust caked on them and are also missing bottling/best by dates.
Customer Service - There were 3 people working, all asked me if there was anything in particular they could help me with, they also gave me good suggestions based upon my beer style preferences. Over at the pub, the girl working was kind enough to let me sample a couple of their draught offerings.
Value - This place is quite pricey. They don't sell their beer at common six pack pricing, everything is priced as if they are singles with about a 35% markup tagged on. Some of the beer there is reasonably priced, you just have to wade through everything. They should consider giving a discount if you buy 6 of the same beer. A beer that is really an $8.99 six pack goes for over $13 here.
If you are coming here, make sure you have at least 90 minutes set aside so you can properly take in everything they have to offer. I was under the gun in terms of time when I came here and still managed to spend over $90 and could have easily spent more. If you're in the area, be sure to check them out.

This is the kind of place you wouldn't expect to find in Boardman, Ohio. I know, I grew up there.
First off, the bottle selection is incredible. I haven't been to every bottle shop in Ohio, but I would be surprised to see one that's better. I always like going to Vintage on my trips back home to pick up stuff that's not distributed in Oregon.
HOWEVER, freshness can be an issue, so you need to be vigilant about checking bottle dates. If you're not sure, don't buy it. I've been burned a few times buying old IPAs from Vintage. I think one of their major problems is their sheer volume of inventory--they just don't have enough turnover for a lot of the beers, and a lot of it sits for much longer than it should.
Service, at least knowledge-wise, is spotty. Some employees know what they're talking about, some don't. However, there's usually someone around to help you if you need it.
Atmosphere is decent. The bar side is cozy and there's a nice outdoor seating area. The bottle room also has a seating area, but the inventory takes up a ton of space and leaves the space feeling cramped and cluttered.
The tap room has a fantastic rotating selection of craft and imports. Prices, however, are steep. And while you can drink any of the bottles they offer on-premises, be prepared to pay a corkage fee. I think I paid $1.50 for them to open a Rochefort 10, and they charged my wife something like $4 to open a $15 bottle of wine. Come on, man!
Overall, I'd recommend Vintage Estate, especially considering the options in the area. You won't leave wanting for beer, that's for sure. Just remember... CHECK THE BOTTLE DATES or you may be sorry.

over 1000 beers and 1000 wines to choose from, not to mention the best selection of mead I've seen. Great retail store, hard to find beers with new ones coming in almost daily. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Kind of small, but if it is not busy then it is not an issue. At least 25 beers on top, they always have Belgians and seasonals, There is a nitro tap with a good stout on all the time. There is a cask aswell, which I believe is the only one in the area. Great place to get lost in for a couple hours.

Vintage Estate Wine and Beer is my favorite place in Ohio for beer. The selection of beer is second to none. I was completely blown away. I happened to get my Westvleteren 12 here too. This is the Willy Wonka of beer. If you are ever in the area, please go to this place! You will not regret it. The prices were reasonable and the service was great too. If I had one critique, it would be their food. It's good, but not great. Who the hell cares anyways. You are there to drink beer!

This place is a combination of 3 or 4 plaza stores. They tore down a couple sections of walls to create walkways. The first section has the wine, the second section has the beer bottles and a bar with a dozen or so taps, the third has a long bar with about 15 taps and the final section has tables. They really have a nice setup. Most craft beer stores are very small, so this was a nice change of pace.
They carry a lot of beers that are hard to find, especially 3Floyds. They always have quality tap selections. This is one of the best craft beer stores I have ever been to. I would highly recommend checking them out if you are in the area.
