look: 4 | smell: 3 | taste: 4 | feel: 3 | overall: 4
Poured into a tulip and it created a 2 finger white head and it has the burned orange look to it. Very nice looking beer. The way west coast IPA should look. But it has been filtered and it is not bottle conditioned but is not a see through beer. Its pretty cloudy. The smell is average. Not a whole lot going on despite the fact that there are 5 different hop varieties in the beer. However, you get the sense immediately that this is a big ipa. You get a bit of booze in the scent but I can tell why the people that rated this below a 2 were upset. I have smelled beers with lower abv with more hops in the scent. But oh well. The taste was not that bad. There is no way that this is a 9.7% beer. Its hidden that well. There are some here that complain that there is a boozy flavor and there is none at all. This beer is very bitter and so bitter that it proves the IBU theory that eventually a beer's bitterness is not able to be tasted by humans. But its high...very high but it drinks like a hopped up single IPA...this is dangerous. I can drink a lot of these. The mouthfeel is average. Not a lot of acid or that citrusy tang you get in hoppy beers. But its sticky as hell. The lacing on my glass is evident of the stickyness but perhaps the temperature I am drinking at has toned it down. Overall this is a 4, an 80. Its not the best dipa I have had. But its not the worst. Those that rate this low must be looking for something else than I. But this is a solid, easy drinking dipa that is bitter as hell. I would say that there is more east coast than west coast in the flavor but gets that b - score from me. BTW purchased this with a gift certificate so I have no financial loss in this and perhaps it has created a bit of a positive bias in my rating but this one is really not that bad.

The hop juice by left coast is decent. Typical of most DIPAs where the hops are counter balanced by sweet malt. The beer poured a copper semi hazy color with white head that Did not lace. The scent was subtle hops with sweet biscuity backdrop. The taste is a decent balance between, my guess semcoe hops, and sweet malt. The mouthfeel is full body with decent carbonation. Overall it was good and I'm glad to have tried it.
